Vax Power 6 Pet 30th Anniversary Edition Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner Review
I have tried many different vacuum cleaners over the years so when my trusted Hoover suddenly died in a plume of electrical fog I researched carefully. What I was looking for was one with good suction power and a turbo brush head for the hose that would be ideal for removing pet hairs from stairs.It also needed to be reasonably priced. I have never tried a VAX vacuum before and had read mixed reviews. Buying a product is frequently a matter of taste and the reviews are of course personal opinions - as indeed mine are. However this vacuum,in my opinion, is excellent. Easy to put together with brilliant suction - a massive 340 watts suction power which is nearly twice that of many uprights. The turbo hose brush head is very good on stairs and both hose length and mains cable length are good. In fact it was amazing just how much more dust and pet hair it picked up from the carpets just hours after I had already cleaned with my other vacuum. I have, however, given it four stars mainly on the basis that it is quite large ( although it does have a large capacity dust container), a little noisy ( but that is a function of the motor size) but more importantly the motor cooling vents forward. The airflow is so fast that it blows light items such as papers etc around ! Nevertheless these are "minor points" for an otherwise great vacuum cleaner.Update 4th April. After regular use if I was designing a cleaner, in my opinion, I would address the following niggles. Apart from the speed of the air coming from the front which really does blow birthday cards from the mantlepiece....it is easy to pull the cleaner over , I would prefer the mains cable to be at the top not coming out of the bottom and the on/off switch is too close to the handle adjuster such that it is easy to switch on and off when you don't want to. The tools also easily fall off. However, all in all it cleans well !
